Cape Rachado Walkabout
A different kind of hike - beachcombing, rock climbing, nature trails amidst few hundred year old Meranti trees, getting a natural tan.The lighthouse, rugged rocky outcrops, mangroves, beautiful secluded sandy beaches, Hang Tuah's footprint, a lone grave circa 1960, a freshwater spring right in the tidal zone, sea cave, sea swirls/ whirlpools. I half expected to see a mermaid :P
Shared a packet of nasi lemak whilst enjoying the cool sea breeze at a rocky promontory and listening to life stories from the ofduty lighthouse keeper. Met and got some enlightenment from a hermit who had been meditating here for 9 months. Really interesting walkabout.
Let the photos do the talking. A good time to come here again would be in March to coincide with the annual Raptor Watch.
